Mike came to us in the most wonderful way. It all started with coffee with my sister at Flying M (Caldwell), the birthplace of all connection. We sat next to a nice gentlemen and began
cracking jokes about my perpetual pregnancy (I was 8 or 9 months pregnant at the time), which lead to great conversations about both having lived in Minnesota and Mountain Home, ID. When he asked if I had a garden, I excitedly talked about the 4 fruit trees, raspberry patch, and salsa garden I usually grow. When I asked if he also grew a garden, he proceeded to humbly show me picture after picture of his glorious 2 acres of what I can only describe as produce heaven.
About Mike
Mike lives simply. He isn't on social media. He has no website. He simply loves the land, loves to garden and does it both diligently and excellently. His land, which is filled with everything from walnuts and loofas to beautiful splays of flowers and like no less than 100 varieties of fruits and vegetables... and Mike tends to it all. He calls his garden Mike's Natural Wonders and it truly is a wonder. He can be found with his Carhartt overalls and a beanie, just pondering all the wonders of the universe and planting seeds and chasing chickens.
Because he isn't online or in a phone book, anyone who buys food, or plant starts from Mike, learns about him from word of mouth. Customers leave happy and return happy. He plants, weeds and harvests with a supernatural wisdom.
Why We Love Mike
Mike always says he's not of this world, he's just in it and the accuracy of this statement is
exactly what makes Mike stand out in a world full of a lot of extra 'noise'. He asks deep questions and listens deeply in response. Things aren't always easy with a one-man-show, especially when the bulk of your income is quite seasonal, but he remains true to what he loves and feels called to.
Coming Soon
We are excited to partner with Mike in this upcoming season and offer fresh produce baskets, plant starts, eggs and more. Organic farming practices are at the top of Mike's priorities, so they're not only grown with love but they're top quality too.
Stay Updated
Produce baskets will be available as one time purchases or as a weekly, bi-weekly or monthly subscription and we anticipate availability in May. Baskets will be delivered or available for pickup throughout the Treasure Valley, Idaho (sorry! no shipping).
